Logic Pro 11 For Mac Announced

My favorite announcement from this mornings Apple event was the announcement of Logic Pro 11 for Mac.

Will my ever expanding feature request wishlist for Logic Pro be addressed? We’ll find out this coming Monday on May 13th.

Set a Calendar event.

Will we finally get native features like:

  • Batch Rename
  • Track Search
  • Full CPU Core Utilization
  • Better Session Navigation
  • Improved Nested Folder Support
  • Simple Basic Folders that do not create a “VCA” fader that isn’t needed.
  • 24 Hour Session Timelines
  • AUv3 Support
  • VST3 Support
  • Better Large Session Performance
  • Improved Audio Waveform views
  • Improved video engine with support for multiple video files
  • Improved Scaling with Automation lanes for all track types
  • View all MIDI CC lanes at once in one Piano Roll window

Probably not.

But at least Stem Splitter looks cool.

The one feature that caught my attention that could also be very useful is;

“Bounce Render, or bounce, a project to a single audio file — or to multiple audio files. A project can be bounced to several different file formats simultaneously, and a surround project can be bounced to a set of surround audio files.”

This could be very helpful, if it works properly.

More thoughts on this latter as I have a session to attend.

I plan to follow up with more of my thoughts as a Mac based Logic Pro user soon.

In the meantime check out the links below.

New iPads are cool as well. I didn’t buy one yet. But I’m excited for those Pro Users who’ve been waiting a while for an update to that product line.
